Curators for Sale was FinnFemFel's contribution to ARTmART November´08 in Künstlerhaus in Vienna. ARTmART is an exhibition, art market for both new buyers and collectors, meeting place for artists and international network.
In the project "Curators for Sale" finnfemfel switches the roles in the delicate relationship between artists and curators, in a very practical and undramatic way. The participating curators become producers of art while finnfemfel acting as the curator, initiator and broker. The curators taking part in the project are Marketta Seppälä, FRAME, Helsinki, Mika Hannula, Berlin, Zsuzsa Laszlo & Dora Hegyi, Budapest, Dan Holm, Vaasa, Finland, Tomas Ivan Träskman, Helsinki and Valentin Rothmaler, Plön, Germany. Curators for Sale! is the start of future projects that enhance and look at the phenomenon from different perspectives.

What is ARTmART?
ARTmART is an exhibition with an experimental market character. Each exhibited art piece is sold for the flat-rate price of € 70,- .„ Much too cheap“– but: only for a week…Within the frame of the viennaartweek ARTmART offers an entry-level marketplace— as well as an experimental field for artists and new collectors. Selections are made by a curatorial jury to ensure the quality and diversity of the contemporary works. ARTmART transfers the successful concept of Greek CHEAPART Gallery to Vienna. ARTmART will, in this vein, exhibit 66 Greek artists in a move that marks the beginning of a European-wide cooperation.View, Exchange, Meet – and Buy!
